Walking on Water and Afraid

But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” and they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”  And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Matthew 14:26‭-‬31 ESV

Afraid of the wind….

Isn’t that a paradox? How could you be walking on water and afraid of the wind?

Did you forget that you were walking on water? Did you forget that you were doing the impossible? Did you forget that Jesus was there with you? He is the one who has kept you and brought you this far. He has you doing what you did not imagine you could. And He is the one who has power over the wind and sea, the storm and rain.

Oh you of little faith, so why do you doubt?

If God brought you this far, could He not do the rest? Don’t you know that God has your best interests in mind? That He loves you and cares for you? That there is only One who is good-God! If we being evil no how to give good gifts, how much more our Father in Heaven! Every good and perfect gift comes from above! All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose!

So why do you doubt? Are you not called? Do you not love God? Fall in love with Him!

Why do you doubt? Trust Him!

Say, “Lord, I trust you!”

And if you truly don’t, then ask Him to help you in your unbelief. Cry out to God! He will save you! Trust Him! He will bring you through!

He brought you this far! Trust Him to do the rest!
